I have arrived

I made it to the other side of the world safe & sound.

So far I've survived:
  • A bus ride to JFK surrounded by drunk kids guys from West Point who were loud, obnoxious, and peeing in a can that eventually spilled.
  • 2 very long flights with several screaming babies and food that was interesting (to put it nicely).
  • My first night sleeping in India with a mosquito in my bed.
  • A cold shower.
  • My first meal in India that was supposedly bland and yet my mouth was on fire. A low flame, but still fire.
So far I've loved:
  • Watching 3 movies on the plane that I've been wanting to see. Julie and Julia (LOVE), My Sister's Keeper (I cried like a baby amongst crying babies on the plane), and Time Traveller's Wife (eh, it passed the time).
  • Getting to see where my brother lives and meet his ex-pat friends.
  • Being able to write this post while everyone else is working. Yay!

Okay, so NOW I know why you are in India, and I'm dying to hear the whole story. Don't hold out on us.

And to think my son was so disappointed when he wasn't admitted to West Point. I guess the applicants who can keep their urine container UPRIGHT are rejected.

Take one hundred zillion pictures, please. Exactly One. Hundred. Gazillion.

And then post them here on your blog.

Yeah! Have a nice trip!!! I also love the movies on the plane. It reminds me of the first time traveling in first class (with Peter for work) I stayed up the ENTIRE night and watched movies and drank (b/c I could) when I got off the plane I was exhausted and a little drunk. But I watched all the movies I wanted to! Ha!

Have fun in India!! Peter said "have a good curry for me".

Also. you should come visit us :)There may also be movies involved!

The one time I flew business class across the country with my 8-year-old granddaughter who refused to let me sleep, you'd better believe that I accepted all the free booze I could hold.

Have fun!

Urban Dad & I went to a Hindu wedding last weekend. That's as close as I've gotten to India. Well, that and living vicariously through stories of my American-Born-To-Arranged-Marriage-In-India-Parents when she has to go back to visit family. Lots of pictures, please! Good luck with the hot food. I'm a total wimp when it comes to that!
